The CA Education Program (CAEP) offers a wide range of educational opportunities for young Americans to live and work abroad in various agricultural fields, including:
1.) Agriculture: Crops, Dairy, Sheep, Swine, Goats/Sheep, Mixed Farming, Agri-Home, Custom Combining, Organic Farming (limited and few)
2.) Horticulture: Fruits, Vegetables, Greenhouse Production, Landscaping, Nurseries, Tree Nursery, and Turf Management
3.) Wine: Enology, Viticulture, Laboratory
4.) Equine: Stable, Racing, Breeding, Hunter Jumper, Vet, 3-Day Eventing, Show
CAEP builds online skills resume and issue a certificate validated by CAEP and the U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) of the skills you have acquired in your program experiences. We work with 42 countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and Uruguay. Each country has different agricultural programs to offer as well as different guidelines for our applicants. A foreign language is not required to participate in the program. Most participants are college age (though they can range from 18 - 35+ depending on the host country) and many make special arrangements to obtain college credit.

The CAEP Outbound Program for Americans is an opportunity for one to gain valuable training, learn more about different cultures, strengthen communication skills, and improve one's employment opportunities in his/her home country. As a CAEP trainee, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different cultures and the farming or business techniques used in different countries.
Goals, Purpose & Benefits of the Program:
* Participants in the program are generally provided with room and board and a monthly stipend.
* You will have ongoing support from our country partner organizations and the CAEP staff while you are
overseas.

* Provides young adults with experience through applied training programs.
* Provides young adults with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the lifestyles and cultural
patterns in different countries.
* Increases knowledge of foreign cultures and languages.
* Promotes recognition of cultural, technical, and academic values of the program by awarding certificates
and/or college credits.
* Exchange programs typically run from 3 to 18 months depending on host country.
Qualifications / Skills Needed:
To qualify for the CAEP Outbound program, you must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, be between the ages of 18-30 (35 for Winemaking placements) and either have:
1) 1 year of domestic experience in a CAEP Apprenticeship Program; or,
2) Documented experience or education in your chosen program; or,
3) A strong desire and commitment to learn about the agricultural field and participate in an outbound program (with the pre-approval of CAEP)
There is also an adminstrative and work visa fee for participation in this education and traing program, and in lieu of this fee, all participants will be paid a stipend while working and may have the opportunity to live with a host family in that country.

- Adminstrative Fee and Application Fee and processing ($750, of which $300 is a deposit). *Includes 1-year membership to CA (Communciating for America) with benefits

- Work Visa/Permit Fee ($0 - $300 depending on country)
- Medical Insurance and Benefits ($85 per month)
- Travel Expenses (vcaries by placement and country)
To help offset prgoram fees, CAEP participants will be paid a stipend while working abroad, and may be able to apply for Scholarships or financial assistance through the CA Foundation to participate in the program.
Salary / Pay: The salary is a stipend and the stipend varies by country and placement. Through this program, you may have the option of living with a host family to help offset the living and food costs.

Experience is dependent on the country. Most countries prefer that you have at least one year of experience in your field to be able to grant a work visa.
Some countries will require that you have an educational degree or certificate, or a minimum of 2-3 years in your field to be able to grant a work visa for thir program.

Scholarships Are Available. - scholarships ranging from $200 - $2,000 are available through the support of the CA Foundation (CAF), a nonprofit orgainzation that provides financial assistance for qualified participants in the CAEP International Program.
*Scholarship application is required and will provided by CAEP if needed.
CAF also matches any donations up to $1,000 that are brought in by CAEP participants from their local communities through the CAF Matching Gift Program.

CAEP 's Mission Statement: The mission of CAEP, a domestic and international agricultural training and exchange program, is to provide young people with educational and cultural exchanges that will promote a better vision and understanding of world cultures.
CAEP offers apprenticeships, internships and international training opportunities in agriculture, horticulture, turf management, enology (wine making), agribusiness, apiary, citrus and equine related industries both in the US and abroad.
