uVolunteer is now recruiting a Desk Officer for its head offices in San Ramon Alajuela, Costa Rica. You will be working alongside the Costa Rica Office Manager and his in country staff.
You will be responsible for:
- Answering all inquires about our programs by email and telephone.
- Visiting Projects around Costa Rica to inspect and writing reports of progress.
- Coordinating all participants pre-arrival Information.
- Contributing content to our online journal and listings.
- Interviewing Volunteers.
- Creating content for our website.
- Becoming involved in other aspect of our management service when required.

* Contract:
The Costa Rica Desk Officer will be employed for an initial period of 12 months subject to a three month probation period on half salary. An offer of employment is dependent upon receipt of satisfactory references and a telephone or personal interview.
* Local Salary & Benefits:
Salary is 500 USD per month. We will help you find suitable cheap accommodation but you will have to pay for this yourself.
* Interview:
If you are successful in the telephone interview we will invite you to spend a few days with us here in Costa Rica. If you are successful after this stage we will offer you a 3 month probation contract.
This is predominately an office job, you need the be very good at communicating with people. Do not apply if you do not want to be working in an office.
* When you start:
We will give you further training during your probation period and we will work with you very closely, throughout your stay. After your 12 month contact, if you have done a good job, there will be the opportunity of a further 12 months contract.

* Be flexible and able to take direction and accept feedback.
* Be friendly and personable with customer service skills, you must respond well to others. Enthusiastic to work in a different culture and relish the opportunity to work in a challenging environment.
* Have great MS Office skills.
